What is it?
Add a simple popup to your website that gets shown to users when they have been browsing your website for a set amount of time.
The popup typically contains some sort of email sign up form - perhaps signing up for a newsletter, or gaining access to an asset.
Why this works
Popups can be a great way to grab your users' attention, interrupting their regular browsing flow. By delaying the popup until after they've browsed around a bit and engaged with your website, they're more likely to have engaged with your content and be keen to sign up for more
Things to consider
Avoid showing the popup too quickly after a user enters the site.
Typically, you may want to wait some seconds/minutes before displaying a popup. You can use metrics from analytics tools to understand the average length of sessions on your website, and experiment with different time delays for your popup to see what gets the most engagement.
As with other popups, make sure you remember your users' preferences and avoid showing the popup again once dismissed.
