General information
About MakeBuild
Where is your Webflow agency based?
MakeBuild is based in central London, UK. Our office is at Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA. We have a team of 16, mostly in and around London with a few others dotted around the world.
Why MakeBuild?
Here are three reasons to consider MakeBuild for your next project.
First, we're a Webflow Enterprise partner - the top tier of Webflow agencies, focused on the most ambitious marketing teams. In 2025, we won a Webflow Award for our work with Typeform, and were finalists for Enterprise Agency of the Year.
Second, we build long-term partnerships with our clients, getting to know them and their businesses to support them as they grow and evolve. Our goal is to give you the tools and training to manage your site independently - while being here when you need us.
Third, you're in great company. Our work supports Y/Combinator, Index Ventures and Founders Factory-backed companies, as well as global brands like Sky, Typeform and PwC.
Who has MakeBuild worked with?
We've partnered with companies across multiple industries including Typeform, Sky, London & Country Mortgages, Metomic, Darktrace - from scaling startups to global brands.
We focus on B2B marketing websites, with particular experience in SaaS, fintech, financial services, HealthTech and cybersecurity. Take a look at our work for examples, including our award-winning Typeform migration and our ongoing partnership with Sky.
Does MakeBuild do Webflow development work without design?
Our speciality is full-service website design and build - we bring the most value when we're involved end to end. That said, we also offer build-only projects if you already have a design ready.
For build-only projects, we'll review your designs and provide guidance to make sure they're optimised for Webflow's CMS and features. We find we bring the most value when we can shape both the design and the build together, but we're flexible.

Are MakeBuild Webflow experts?
Yes! We've been certified by Webflow as a Webflow Enterprise partner - the top tier of Webflow experts, focused on delivering the biggest and best projects using Webflow.
We were one of the first Webflow Enterprise partner agencies in the UK, and have been so for a number of years. In 2025, we won Webflow's All Star Website award for our migration of Typeform.com.
Why is MakeBuild the best Webflow Enterprise agency in the UK?
We don't claim to do everything - and that's the point. B2B marketing websites on Webflow is our core focus, and we do it exceptionally well. We won Webflow's All Star Website award in 2025 for our work with Typeform, and we're one of the first Webflow Enterprise partners in the UK.
Our founders come from a consulting background, so we bring rigour, process, and structure to projects - not just design flair. We're big enough to handle complex migrations for organisations like Typeform, Sky but small enough that you'll never feel like a small fish.
We also believe in transparency. We'll tell you honestly what's realistic, what the timeline looks like, and where the risks are - rather than telling you what you want to hear.

How we work
Process
What do you need from us to get started?
A brief or outline of your site - even a rough one - is a great starting point. We'll set up a shared questions log to fill in any gaps, then come back with a lightweight one-page proposal covering scope, timeline, and budget.
The biggest thing that speeds up projects is content readiness. If your messaging, copy, and structure are sorted before we start building, everything moves much faster. We can use any lead time to help you figure out what's needed so that when the build starts, we're not waiting on content.
We'll also need access to your current site, any brand guidelines or design assets, and details on your existing tech stack and integrations.
Can we start small and expand later?
Absolutely. We're big advocates for a phased approach - especially for ambitious teams who want to do a lot but need to show quick wins first.
Rather than a full redesign and rebuild, some teams prefer to start with phase 1:Ā get the core site migrated onto Webflow with solid foundations, a robust component system, and a bit of design polish. This alone is often enough to demonstrate value to leadership and stakeholders.
From there, you can explore bigger ambitions in follow-up phases: personalised user journeys, A/B testing with Webflow Optimize, new page layouts, richer media content, AI-powered content tools, or expansion into new markets and languages.
How do you project manage Webflow projects?
Project management is included in all of our projects. We manage tasks in Notion, which you'll have full access to throughout. Regular weekly check-ins keep us aligned, and a shared Slack channel lets everyone raise questions as they come up.
For larger projects, we also provide milestone updates - sometimes as short recorded videos - so you can share progress with internal stakeholders without needing to organise a meeting. This is especially useful if you need to keep leadership or a board informed along the way.
How many rounds of feedback and revisions are included?
We typically offer three rounds of revisions for each page we design, though some projects have more or less based on requirements and timelines.
We'll work with you in the scoping phase to agree an approach. The key thing is keeping feedback cycles short and sharp - that's what keeps projects on track and on budget.
How long does it take to design and build a Webflow website?
Most projects take between one and three months for design, build, and migration. We've delivered full websites in weeks when the scope is focused, and larger migrations with significant content can take a bit longer.
The biggest factor in timeline is often content readiness on your side. We'll use any lead time before the build phase to get ducks in a row - gathering design assets, finalising content and messaging - so that when we start building, everything moves quickly.
We can also phase projects to hit tight deadlines: launch the core site first, then follow up with secondary sections or features in a fast follow.

Post-launch and training
Will my team be able to manage the site after launch?
That's the whole point. We set up your Webflow site with a robust component system - modular, reusable building blocks - so your team can build landing pages, publish content, and make updates without developer support.
We also provide hands-on training specific to your build: how the nav works, how the CMS is structured, how to add a blog author. We record short Loom walkthroughs that your team can reference for years - so when someone new joins in a year's time, the knowledge isn't lost.
For 90% of day-to-day web work, you'll be fully self-sufficient. For the occasional heavier lift - a new component, a microsite, a technical integration - you can call on us or any Webflow freelancer. You're never locked in to one agency. Read more about how we build design systems that actually get used.
Does MakeBuild offer ongoing Webflow support and retainers?
Yes - but our goal is actually to make ourselves obsolete. We set up your Webflow site so your team can handle 90% of day-to-day work independently: building landing pages, adding content, launching new resources.
For that remaining 10% - maybe a heavier technical lift, a brand new component, or a new microsite - we're here if you need us. Some clients keep us on a light retainer for ongoing support, while others dip in on a project basis as needed.
We also provide training and recorded walkthroughs specific to your build, so your team has long-term reference material. If it's a five-minute question six months later, we're happy to give you a nudge for free.

Technical
Migrations
What about SEO when migrating to Webflow?
Preserving SEO performance is a top priority in every migration we do. We handle 301 redirects, robots.txt configuration, meta tags, structured data, and sitemap setup as standard.
When we migrated Typeform.com - a site with millions of monthly visitors where organic traffic is a critical growth driver - they saw an uplift in SEO metrics after launch. We do extensive pre-work and QA to make sure rankings are maintained, if not improved.
We focus specifically on technical SEO foundations. Increasingly, this also supports AEO (AI Engine Optimisation) - making sure your content is structured so it surfaces in AI tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. For content strategy and backlink building, we'd recommend a specialist SEO partner alongside us.
Does it have to be a full redesign, or can you just migrate what we have?
It doesn't have to be a full redesign at all. Many of our clients come to us saying: the site looks good, the performance is strong - we just need to move it to a platform we can actually manage.
We call this a "lift and shift with polish." We'll bring over what you've got and explore how to elevate the design in a few key areas, rearchitecting a handful of key pages if you wish. That's exactly what we did for the Typeform Webflow migration project - not a full redesign, just a careful migration with some targeted visual improvements.
This approach keeps costs down, timelines tight, and avoids the stakeholder complexity of a full redesign. You can always explore bigger design changes in a follow-up phase once you're settled on Webflow.
Can you migrate from Contentful to Webflow?
Yes! We're experts in helping clients migrate from Contentful to Webflow.
Typically, sites have been built by in-house developers with a headless Contentful CMS. While Contentful is powerful, it's also complex and can be difficult for marketers to get up to speed with.
Webflow's CMS is much simpler, and we'll set it up in a way that's easy for your marketing team to edit and add content to. Beyond the CMS for dynamic content like blog posts and resources, marketers can design pages rather than being stuck with rigid templates.

Can you migrate from WordPress to Webflow?
Yes! We regularly help clients migrate from WordPress to Webflow. We handle the full process - content migration, 301 redirects, SEO preservation, and QA - to make sure nothing gets missed and there's minimal downtime.
We take particular care with SEO during migrations. When we migrated Typeform.com to Webflow, they actually saw an uplift in SEO metrics after launch, not just maintenance of existing rankings.

Can you migrate from a custom-built website to Webflow?
Yes! We're experts at helping clients migrate to Webflow from custom-built platforms, headless CMS setups like Sanity or Contentful, and other bespoke stacks.
This is one of the most common projects we take on. Typically, the site has been built by an external agency or in-house developers, and the team is experiencing high engineering costs, technical debt, and slow release cycles. Moving to Webflow dramatically reduces ongoing maintenance costs and gives your marketing team direct control.
We'll carefully migrate your content, preserve your SEO rankings, and set up a robust component system so your team can manage the site going forward. By working with a trusted Webflow Enterprise partner like MakeBuild, you'll get best-in-class migration support with minimal downtime or business impact.
We recently wrote about how we migrated 4,000 pages with zero downtime. Take a look at our work or get in touch for more information.
Integrations
Can you work with our existing tools and integrations?
Yes. We regularly integrate Webflow with tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, analytics platforms, AB testing tools, cookie consent managers, and third-party APIs. About half of our projects include a CRM integration component.
For more complex setups - like pulling live data from an external platform into Webflow, or connecting authentication systems - we've built solutions using REST APIs, AWS, and Azure. We helped London & Country Mortgages power live mortgage search from external APIs, all within Webflow.
If you've got existing tools you need to keep (analytics, AB testing, enrichment tools like Clearbit or 6sense), migrating those into a Webflow setup is typically straightforward - often just a matter of adding scripts to page headers.
Can you integrate HubSpot with Webflow?
Yes! About half of our projects include a HubSpot integration. We go beyond simple form embeds to set up advanced workflows that support your full sales enablement stack.
Need to gate content behind a HubSpot form to capture leads? No problem. Need persistent UTM tracking so paid ad spend is tracked through to conversion? We can help with that. Need Webflow forms that fire data into Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other CRMs? We've done that too.
We're well-versed in the APIs and technical specs to get your Webflow site working seamlessly with HubSpot for marketing, sales, and customer success.

Webflow
How does MakeBuild handle complex site architectures?
We've built Webflow sites that handle multiple audience segments, localised content for different markets, resource hubs with filtering, and hybrid setups where some content lives in Webflow and some is pulled from external platforms.
The key is getting the CMS data architecture right from the start. For example, if you have content that needs to appear on multiple page types - like a course curriculum that's shared between a B2B and B2C version of a page - we'll set up a single source of truth in the CMS so updates only need to happen once.
We also build with scale in mind. If you've got 100 pages this year and plan to scale to 1000, we'll design templates and filtering systems that grow with you rather than break. See how we approached this for Typeform.
Can I host my Webflow website outside of Webflow?
Yes. While we typically recommend hosting on Webflow itself, it's possible to export the code and host it separately on your own infrastructure like AWS.
Most of our clients prefer Webflow hosting so they can use the full power of the CMS, collaboration tools, and features like Webflow Optimize.
Is Webflow good for SEO?
Yes! Webflow is a great choice for SEO. Sites are super performant with fast page loads, which helps with technical SEO. The CMS makes it easy to create content and build internal linking structures to strengthen your authority.
We focus specifically on technical SEO during migrations - 301 redirects, proper tagging, robots configuration, and structured data markup. When we migrated Typeform.com, they saw an uplift in organic metrics post-launch.
Increasingly, this also feeds into AEO (AI Engine Optimisation) - making sure your content surfaces in AI tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. We can help set that foundation.
For more information, see SEO in Webflow.
Can you add custom code in Webflow?
Yes! It's straightforward to add custom code into Webflow via Code Embed elements, page-level settings, or project-wide settings.
We've also pushed Webflow beyond the limits of the platform, connecting with back-end infrastructure to bring REST API data directly into Webflow, with AWS and Azure integrations. For clients like London & Country Mortgages, we built live search functionality powered by external APIs - all within Webflow.
That said, one of the reasons we love Webflow is that most of the time, you can build your desired functionality purely using the Webflow designer with no custom code required.
Is Webflow good for marketing websites?
Yes! Webflow is an excellent choice for marketing websites. Unlike custom builds or complex headless CMS platforms, Webflow brings design and content together into a single platform. This makes it easy to add and edit content without developers, and to build landing pages quickly to get campaigns off the ground.
Webflow is also secure and performant - no plugin updates or slow page loads like some legacy platforms. And with native features for animation, A/B testing (via Webflow Optimize), and AI-powered content tools, it's a platform that grows with your ambitions.
As a Webflow Enterprise partner, we're uniquely placed to support the most ambitious marketing teams. Get in touch to learn more.
Is Webflow a good choice for marketing teams?
Absolutely. This is the single biggest reason our clients move to Webflow - giving marketing teams control back over their website without relying on developers or agencies for every change.
We've worked with teams who were stuck waiting a month for their agency to make simple content updates. On Webflow, your marketers can publish blog posts, build landing pages, run experiments, and launch campaigns on their own schedule.
The key is setting it up right. We build robust component systems - modular, drag-and-drop building blocks - so even less technical team members can create professional pages without touching code. Content editors can handle their tasks, while your web lead retains full control over the design system.
As a Webflow Enterprise partner, we're experts at configuring Webflow for marketing team independence. Get in touch to learn more.
